Livingroom yellow

This image at the stylizimoblog.com caught my eye in June 2014. So I pinned it onto one of my Pinterestboards. Ever since visitors to that board has kept on re-pinning the image.

The image comes from the Stylizimoblog, which I visit more or less daily. The original page/post is here. The blogger has since sold that house and moved into a new, quite fantastic house (in Norway). She is just starting to release pictures from it now on her blog. That house is really something…

So, what is it with this image and this livingroom that draws people? For me it was the almost exclusively black-white-grey way of furnishing and decorating. Plus the one color addition to that, here yellow (could have been any color, but here it happened to be yellow). The room is airy, light, calm and inviting.

There is nothing very fancy about the furniture. It is a regular Ikea-sofa (Karlstad), a regular Ikea sofa-table (as far as I can judge) plus a designer rocking-chair, a designer table (the small black one with a handle). There is a byLassen candle holder and a Kähler vase on the sofa-table. The floor-lamp I have also seen somewhere but don’t remember the make. The carpet is not Ikea, but similar to one they have.

What catches the eye I think is the light and airiness and the calm atmosphere. I too like to look at this room, just as my visitors on that Pinterest board apparently seem to do as hey keep on re-pinning the image. Almost every day someone re-pinned the image.

Trendy Danish Cheramics

I love ceramics. Only problem is to bring it home when on travel (size and fragility) and the price when you find something you really like. Designer ceramics do not come cheap…

One of my favorite ceramics firms is the danish firm Kähler. I recently spotted their new items at the site called Trendspanarna and borrowed some images from there. The ones they initially got famous for here in Sweden was the Omaggio striped ceramics, originally vases in various sizes, now new striped items. Really love it.

That butter-box is SO nice.

I’d love to have these light-houses… and add them to my small collection of 3 light-houses in tin that I have in the livingroom. At least one of them…

These Globo candle holders really talk to me… That simple form is fantastic in its simplicity. Just wish I could afford getting one of those for four candles. The big one below for instance.

The images originally come from the Kähler press-release as I understand it. I hope they don’t mind that I publish them too…
