This is my hotelbalcony in Rethymnon.

From about 3.30 PM it was in the shadow – perfect when coming home from the beach to get out of the sun and away from the heat.

The beach is just 50 meters away, across the road. You could sit on the balcony reading, resting, contemplating and looking out over the Mediterranean and listening to the waves (which also could be heard all night long of course).

The hotel is called the Plaza and classified as a middle class apartment hotel. Fairly large apartment (at least mine was) with all the neccassary equipment for living there during a vacation. I never cook when on vacation, but it is nice to be able to do ones own breakfast – at the time you want it and not when a dining room is open.

The hotel consists of several low buildings and also has a small swimmingpool for windy days when you cannot go into the sea. This is the north coast with quite a lot of high waves and dangerous underwater streams at times.
