The older generation of cretensian men still today often dress in traditional garb. Sometimes only for holidays or special occassions but someties also as their normal everyday clothing. Typical is the black shirt, the black hairnet and the high leather boots. Today they wear riding trouser. The first times I was in Crete they usually wore "trousers" that ended at the knees with the behind hanging down or very wide, looking more lika a skirt than trousers. Those are less common today, except for shows and certain occasions.
