This is the first real stop for filling up water bottles with fresh water, sitting in the shade, take a small brake. Reaching this place the worst of the steep downclimbing is over and the walking gets more even. (Still extremely stony though...)
This place used to be a village and has a small chapel called Agios Nikolaos. It also has a warden with a donkey that can carry out people that give up after he first hard part of walking the ravine.
