All those small things one keeps in the kitchen…

This picture is shot on February 2nd this year but it looks much the same today.

On a smallish light blue shelf from Ikea stands one wireless telephone, one number-presenter connected to the phoneline, that is so old that it has passed all the years it can show. Years were finished in 2011… But the presenter still works so it lives on. Easier to see who called and from which number on that one than on the phone itself.

There is also a date presenter. Manual. From Jacko bananas… It is OLD. My father got it via his job in the 40-ties when banana deliveries were resumed after WWII.

There is a pencil-mug with various pens and pencils, handy to reach. And behind them one green and one red garbage-bin in mini size that I got at some fair. Keep all kinds of small things in them. And under the number presenter, a small pile of discount coupons.

This is my tiny note-board on the wall between the fridge/freezer and the bookcase with cookbooks and other stuff. On the board are various receipts, some notes about things not to forget. Recipes for tzatziki (various kinds). One dollar. Got that one dollar from TIME magazine long ago. At the time I think it was worth about double as much as it is today… Yes, it is a real dollar. The front of the fridge/freezer is also used as a note-board.

Here is an overview of that corner.

Bookcase for cookbooks, tea and coffee and pasta. It is a regular Ikea Billy bookcase. Yes, I buy olive oil in 5 liter containers, greek olive oil (which is the one I prefer). From Munirs Livs in Skärholmen (where I also buy other middle eastern food stuffs). 5 liters of olive oil lasts almost a year for me. I am a one person household.

I love my present kitchen. It has got a lot of light (2 windows in the corner) and is fairly spacious. Not all that cleverly planned unfortunately. Some of the cupboards are really hopeless… And I’d really, really need a bigger fridge/freezer. The kitchen has a sloping ceiling on this side which complicates things.

If I had the money though… then I would re-plan and redo the entire kitchen and get full size fridge and freezers. But I do not have the money to do that. It would still have white cupboards.
