If you walk the road upto the fortress you have a splendid view over Alanya, first to one side of town and then, when you come to the top, to the other side with the nicest beach. There are a few small restaurants along the road, but none that were open in day-time. So bring water to drink for the walk.
And endure the constant offers from the taxi-drivers to take you to the top (or down, depending on which direction you walk). I walked up to the fortress about 4 times as I enjoyed the walk despite the hot weather.
There is a small entrance-fee to get intp the fortress (and the only coffeshop is inside the fortress).
