Skiathos, Kastro

The second on the trip around the island was at Kastro, the old and former capital of the island of Skiathos.

There are some remains on top of the mountain. Takes 20 minutes up and 20 minutes down again from the beach.

Some took a walk, others took a swim in the sea, and the rest of us (me included) took a coffebreak or similar. I had my usual, a frappe (cold, stong coffee with milk and ice, foaming at the top, that you drink with a straw). The "coffeeshop" was really a small hut with a lot of old junk around it. Very primitive.

At the beach, the boat we travelled on.

Mule at Kastro

This mule belonged to the cafeteria at Kastro. They probably used it for transportation of supplies to the cafeteria as there is no road the last bit down to the beach but only a narrow path. The mule just stood there, in the sun, on the side of the slope.
